CareerDoc

CareerDoc does the repetitive part of a job search: reading the posting, writing a CV and cover letter tuned to it, filling the form, and keeping the whole pipeline in one place. You review and submit every application yourself.

Step 1

Build your profile

Upload your current CV in CV Studio or Profile. AI pulls out your experience, skills and education — about a minute.

Step 2

Add the Chrome extension

Install it from the Extension page. It reads job pages and fills forms without you switching tabs.

Step 3

Generate your first CV

On a job posting, click the extension — or on the dashboard hit Generate CV and paste the description.

1

Your profile is the source of everything

Every CV, cover letter and form answer CareerDoc produces is built from one profile. Fill it in once and keep it current.

The fastest way: upload a CV

  • 1 Open CV Studio and choose Import from CV (PDF, Word or text).
  • 2 AI parses it into blocks — identity, summary, skills, experience, education, projects, certifications, links.
  • 3 Review each block, fix anything it misread, then save.

CV Studio vs. Profile

CV Studio edits the same data as eight guided blocks, shows a CV strength meter, and has a CV Coach you can talk to — describe what you’ve been working on and it proposes specific additions you accept one at a time. Profile is the same information as a plain form. Use whichever you prefer; they save to the same place.

💡Write a real professional summary and put numbers in your experience bullets. Both make a large difference to the generated documents and to your fit score.

The Chrome extension

The extension is where most of the work happens — it runs on the job posting itself, so you never copy-paste a description or switch tabs.

CareerDoc for Chrome
Works on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and more
Add to Chrome
  • 1 Install from the Chrome Web Store (link above), then confirm with Add extension.
  • 2 Sign in to CareerDoc here in your browser — the extension picks up your session automatically. No second login.
  • 3 Open any job posting. The toolbar icon activates when it detects one; click it to open the panel.
💡If a site isn’t supported, use Generate CV on the dashboard and paste the description — the rest of the flow is identical.
3

Generate a tailored CV & cover letter

Two ways in, same result:

Extension On the job page
Click the extension, then Analyze & Generate Documents. It scrapes the posting, checks whether you’ve applied there before, and generates both documents.
Dashboard Paste a description
Click Generate CV, paste the full posting into the box, and press Generate my CV.
The Generate your CV modal — job description box, Generate my CV button, and a quiet save option 1 1 — paste the full job posting 2 2 — ~30s: CV, cover letter, fit score, PDFs 3 3 — or just save the job for later
Dashboard → Generate CV (the extension shows the same flow on the job page)

Generation takes roughly 20–30 seconds. When it’s done you get:

  • a CV and a cover letter, as clean single-column PDFs an ATS can read;
  • a Profile Fit and CV Fit score for the role;
  • a Review & Edit option — adjust the summary, bullets or cover-letter paragraphs and the PDF re-renders, no new AI call.
💡Generate fresh documents for every role. CareerDoc reworks your real experience to match each posting — it never invents history, and you should never send the same CV twice.
4

Read your fit score

After generation you get two scores, each with a short list of strengths and gaps:

Profile fit
82%
CV fit
67%
  • Profile fit — your overall background against what the role asks for.
  • CV fit — the generated CV specifically against the role.
  • A gap between the two means relevant experience is in your profile but not surfaced in the CV — regenerate, or edit the CV to pull it forward.
💡A low profile fit usually means the role isn’t a close match — or that your profile is missing experience you actually have. Update the profile before you decide to skip a role.
5

Fill the application

CareerDoc detects whether the posting wants a form or an email and handles each.

Online form

  • 1 On the application page, open the extension and click Scan Page.
  • 2 It identifies every field — name, work history, and the long “why do you want to work here” boxes.
  • 3 Click Fill Page. Review every field, then submit the form yourself.

Email application

When a posting only gives an address, the extension builds the email — recipient, subject, a body drawn from the cover letter, both PDFs attached. If Gmail is connected you can send & apply in one click; otherwise open it in your mail client or compose it by hand.

💡CareerDoc fills; it never clicks submit or send without you. The last step is always yours.
6

Track your pipeline

Every job you touch lands on the Applications board with a status, a date and a fit score. Move it through the stages as it progresses:

Saved → Applied → Interviewing → Offered → Rejected / Withdrawn

  • Change a status from the row dropdown, or open the application for the full view.
  • The application page holds the job context, the form answers the extension produced, and a chat scoped to that role.
  • Log a recruiter reply, an interview invite or a follow-up in the correspondence log so nothing gets lost.
  • Export the whole pipeline to CSV any time.

Never miss an interview email

Connect your accounts on the Integrations page and CareerDoc keeps watch for you.

  • Gmail — CareerDoc detects interview invitations, offers and rejections, and adds interview events to your calendar with 24-hour and 1-hour reminders.
  • WhatsApp / Telegram — connect a chat to get those alerts on your phone, and to check your pipeline or generate documents by message.
💡Google access is approved manually while our integration is in review — request it on the Integrations page and we’ll email you when it’s ready to connect.

Prepare for the interview

Once you land one, open Interview Prep.

  • 1 Generate a question bank from a saved role or a pasted description — behavioural (with STAR hints drawn from your own history), technical, role-specific, and questions to ask them.
  • 2 Run a practice session: answer by typing or speaking, and get each answer scored out of 100 with a tighter rewrite.
  • 3 Finish for a debrief — overall score, focus areas, next steps — and keep a history of every session.
💡Practice is self-paced and on screen. CareerDoc does not feed you answers during a real interview.

9

Ask the assistant

The chat button on every page answers questions with your profile in context. On an application page, the Ask AI tab also has the job description loaded.

  • “What should I emphasise in my cover letter for this role?”
  • “Where is my background weak against this posting?”
  • “Draft a short follow-up email for the recruiter.”

What CareerDoc won’t do

  • Apply to jobs for you — you review and submit every application.
  • Invent experience — it only reworks what’s in your profile.
  • Promise interviews, offers, or that a CV clears any particular ATS.
  • Help you during a live interview — practice is self-paced and visible.

CareerDoc is free to start. Usage of the AI features is metered by plan; paid plans for higher limits are on the way. See Subscription for where you stand.
